First, check whether Soda is still working on it. Open Memories. If the call shows Transcribing, Processing, or Summarising, it’s on its way. If it isn’t there, the call can’t be recovered. Work through the causes below so your next call is captured.

Soda was not running when the call started

How to tell: you’d quit Soda, or opened it after the call began. Open Soda before you join. Mid-call, mute and unmute your microphone, and Soda captures the call from then on.

An unsupported meeting app

How to tell: the call was on your phone, or in an app that isn’t on the list. See Meeting apps Soda works with.

The app is switched off

How to tell: the app’s switch is off in Settings > Privacy. See Choose which apps Soda listens to.

Soda was paused

How to tell: you clicked the Soda tile in the bottom-left corner, then the sound wave, and didn’t resume. See Pause Soda during a call.

It was a short call

How to tell: the call was shorter than your Ignore calls shorter than setting, which starts at 3 minutes. Either Ask me before ignoring short calls was off, or you didn’t answer Keep this memory? within 10 minutes. See Short calls.

A Mac permission is off

How to tell: when you open Soda, it takes you back to a permission screen. If it hasn’t asked, quit and reopen Soda so it can check. See Permissions.

Browser access is off

How to tell: the call was in your browser, and you didn’t allow Soda access to that browser. See browser access. Still stuck? Contact support.
